1. Information we collect
We may collect account information such as your name, email address, phone number and authentication details; booking information such as salon, service, specialist, appointment date and time; provider business information such as salon details, opening hours, staff, services and a provider-supplied map pin for the salon; reviews and uploaded review photos; account-safety preferences such as reviewers you choose to block; feedback you submit; and technical or usage information needed to operate, secure and improve the service. If you choose to use nearby-distance features, SalonPlug may request your current device location to calculate how far salons are from you. Usage information may include page views, searches, booking-flow interactions, anonymous or session analytics identifiers, device or platform type, and referral or campaign information when that information is provided by the browser, app or campaign link.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and maintain accounts, process and manage bookings, send booking and service notifications, operate provider storefronts, display verified reviews, apply your account-safety preferences, calculate customer-to-salon distance when location access is requested, provide directions, provide customer support, prevent misuse and fraud, administer platform operations, understand demand and how people find and use SalonPlug, improve the service, measure campaigns and comply with legal obligations. Platform analytics are intended to be viewed in aggregate for business and product decisions rather than used to expose individual customer activity to salons or advertisers.
3. Who receives information
Booking information is shared with the salon or beauty professional involved in your appointment. A salon's confirmed business map pin may be published as part of its storefront so customers can calculate distance and open directions.
We also work with trusted third-party service providers that help us host and secure the platform, manage authentication and account access, store and process data, deliver transactional email, SMS and push notifications, provide mapping and location functionality, support payment or business operations where applicable, and measure platform performance or advertising campaigns. These providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide those services on our behalf and are expected to protect it appropriately.
We do not sell personal information.
4. Location information
Customer location access is optional. SalonPlug requests a current location only after you choose the location feature and uses it to calculate nearby distance and directions. The customer location used for this feature is kept in the current browser or app session rather than written to SalonPlug's customer database, and SalonPlug does not use background location tracking for this feature. Providers may deliberately save the salon's business coordinates to their storefront; those business coordinates are intended to be public while the storefront is published.
5. Advertising measurement and analytics
SalonPlug may use limited analytics and advertising-measurement technologies on public web pages to understand whether campaigns lead to visits, storefront views or booking-flow starts, and to improve platform performance. These technologies may receive limited browser, device, referral, page and event information and may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own privacy practices.
SalonPlug does not deliberately send customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, booking contact details, precise customer location, or provider/admin/account page activity through advertising-measurement tools. Advertising-measurement technology is not deliberately loaded inside the installed SalonPlug Android app.
6. Public information
Published salon storefront information, including business name, location, map pin, services, gallery images, opening hours, ratings, verified reviews and provider responses, may be visible publicly. Private provider operational contact details are not intended to appear in the public storefront unless the provider deliberately supplies a public contact channel.
7. Your choices and rights
You may decline customer location access and continue using SalonPlug without distance information. Signed-in users may also block a reviewer so reviews from that account are hidden from their own SalonPlug experience; blocking does not remove the review for other users or automatically send a moderation report. You may update eligible account information, control optional marketing preferences where available, request access or correction, and delete your SalonPlug account. Account deletion can be initiated from your customer or provider account and from our public Account Deletion page. Browser privacy settings, content blockers and applicable advertising controls may also affect third-party measurement technologies.
8. Account deletion
Customers and salon providers can request permanent account deletion from within SalonPlug or through the public Account Deletion page. We may verify a deletion request before completing it to help protect accounts from unauthorized requests. Active account data, including reviewer-block preferences associated with the account, is removed in accordance with the deletion process, while limited historical records may be retained where reasonably necessary for support, disputes, fraud prevention, legal obligations or platform integrity. See the Data Retention Policy for more detail.
9. Security
SalonPlug uses authenticated access, server-side authorization, restricted database and storage rules, encrypted connections and other technical and organizational controls designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect their sign-in credentials and notify us of suspected misuse.
10. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, subject to our Data Retention Policy and any legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting or dispute-resolution requirements. First-party analytics events are designed with limited retention and without storing raw IP addresses in the analytics event record.
11. Children
SalonPlug is intended for people who can lawfully enter into service transactions and operate or use beauty-service accounts. We do not knowingly design SalonPlug for children to create independent commercial booking accounts.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as SalonPlug develops. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page. Questions, privacy requests or data concerns can be submitted through the Send Feedback page.
